About LIMP

Laboratory for Intelligent Multimedia Processing (LIMP ~ IMP), previously named Laboratory for Intelligent Sound and Speech Processing (LISSP), was founded in November 1996 by Prof. Mohammad Mehdi Homayounpour.

Nowadays, the need for research and development of techniques for processing of multimedia data is very important and necessary. The mission of IMPs(LIMP) is to develop sophisticated algorithms for processing of multimedia data and development of intelligent multimedia systems.

Mohammad Mehdi Homayounpour

Mohammad Mehdi Homayounpour received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Amirkabir university of technology, Tehran, Iran, in 1987, and the M.S. in electrical engineering from Khajenasireddin Toosi university, Tehran, Iran in 1990, DEA in Phonetics from Nouovelle Sourbonne university, Paris, France, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Paris 11 (Orsay) university, Paris, France, in 1995. He is a professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at the Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. His research focuses on speech and signal processing, natural language processing, machine learning, deep learning, multimedia processing and hardware design.
